Crime Victims Program hosts annual Celebration of Women Event

This year marks our 9th Anniversary of the Celebration of Women. I created this event 9 years ago and have coordinated it annually since, and have been amazed at how many individuals we reach each year as we showcase supports and opportunities for women in our community.

We hold this in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month to promote awareness of the rights of the victims and the many services available to them in our County. Our mission is to educate and empower women with the extensive resources they have at their fingertips. Presentations and services range from self-defense to massage therapy, as well as beauty and fitness advice, women centered home businesses, employment opportunities, housing information and higher education choices.

Violence in the family affects the entire family and hurts our community and our nation. Please show your support for this cause and recognize how wide spread and important it is by attending the Celebration. A special thanks goes out to our Crime Victims staff who have worked so hard and to all the participating vendors throughout the years.
